14kt gold fill
sterling
14kt/18kt solid gold
stone hangs just over 1/2''
TIDBIT:
Lapis is the Latin for ''stone'' and lazuli the genitive form of the Medieval Latin lazulum, which is taken from the name of a place where it was mined which then came to be associated with the color of the stone - giving us the word azure (a word I personally associate with ''vacation'')
Lapis lazuli is found in limestone in the Kokcha River valley of Badakhshan province in northeastern Afghanistan, where the Sar-e-Sang mine deposits have been worked for more than 6,000 years. That's probably how long it would take me to remember how to pronounce those words.....
