Cake Jewelry (as a singular entity) was founded in 2001 by jewelry designer Meike Williams. She opened her first retail store in 2004, and soon realized it would be a great outlet for all the jewelry artists she had been meeting over the years as well.
In 2007, a solid effort to consolidate this group of up-and-coming designers into a cohesive network of support and substance gave birth to the revamped website and overall company identity, wherein all the lines would be well represented.
In 2010 Cake Jewelry began operating on both coasts, providing wholesale services to retail shops across the country, studio services for wardrobe departments in television and film, and a spirited and fun shopping experience for locals and visitors to the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles.
In 2011 Meike re-located her business to Vermont, to be able to spend more time with her family (grandpa is 97:) She makes frequent trips to NYC and occasional ones to Los Angeles for fixes of sunshine!
